Telegram Notifications Setup
Rinku can send optimization alert notifications to a Telegram chat — a private chat, a group, or a channel. To do this, you connect a Telegram bot and select a chat.
Step 1: Create a bot in Telegram
- Open Telegram and start a chat with @BotFather
- Send
/newbotand follow the prompts to name your bot - BotFather will give you a bot token — copy it
Step 2: Connect the bot in Rinku
- Go to Integrations → Telegram
- Paste your bot token into the Telegram bot token field
- Click Continue
Rinku will connect to the bot and look for recent chat activity.
Step 3: Send a message to your bot
Rinku can only see chats that have sent the bot a message. If no chats appear after clicking Continue:
- Open Telegram and send any message to your bot from the target chat (your private chat, a group the bot is in, or a channel where the bot is an admin)
- Back in Rinku, click Check again
The target chat will now appear in the list.
Step 4: Select a chat and connect
- Select the chat from the Available chats list
- Optionally enter a Name to identify it in Rinku (e.g. "Alerts bot", "Main group")
- Click Connect chat
The chat is now saved under Integrations → Telegram and available for use in optimization rules.
Step 5: Add Telegram to a rule
- Go to Optimizations → Rules and open or create a rule
- Under Notification channels, check Telegram
- Select the connected chat from the Telegram channel dropdown
- Save the rule
From now on, when this rule triggers an alert, Rinku will send a message to the selected chat.
Tips
- You can connect multiple bots and chats — each appears separately in the dropdown when configuring a rule
- A single chat can be used across multiple rules
- To use a group chat, add the bot to the group and send it a message there before connecting
- For a channel, make the bot an admin first
